New Project:

Iron Horse Cowgirls:Motorcycle Journeys of the 1930s and 1940s

mc women waving 7

Some wonderful news about the book! I have located some people who are directly connected with the main subject of my photo collection, Louise Scherbyn. Louise was an avid motorcyclist and paved the way for women to ride as well as men. She began the Women’s International Motorcycling Association (WIMA) which is still going strong in many parts of the world.

This new book is such a fun and important project. The goal is to honor women who pioneered motorcycling for “the gentler sex” by featuring my extensive collection of vintage photographs. You can find sample photos and text at www.facebook.com/ironhorsecowgirlsclassic photos and on Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram. Please like, share, re-tweet and so forth. I appreciate any help you can offer to help me get the word out. And add your email on the “follow” button here to find out the latest and when the book will be published. Thank you!

READINGS & APPEARANCES

Watermelon Hill… sweet memories

The play, “Watermelon Hill,” inspired by my books, is now history at the History Theatre. It was a beautiful production that brought much more than entertainment to many people. Playwright Lily Baber Coyle and I were at most performances and witnessed the great peace and healing effects of the play. I am forever grateful to Ron Peluso, who was the first to grasp its importance (and take action.) Kudos to Lily, Anya, the cast, crew and entire staff. You did good things for humanity.

Inver Hills Community College

The school is using my book, OUT OF THE SHADOWS: STORIES OF ADOPTION AND REUNION as a textbook! I have spoken to student groups several times and look forward to more interaction.
